One of the great benefits of Borghetto Calcinaia is that while it is totally private and surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, it is not isolated. Our nearest town, Anghiari, is a five minute drive away, where there are many small shops and restaurants, a weekly market and a fascinating museum celebrating the famous Battle of Anghiari 1440. We are also within a fifteen minute drive from several good quality supermarkets which not only sell a wide range of Italian wines but also stock everything from amaretti to zucchini.

Bologna - 2 hrs
Pisa - 2½ hrs
Rome - 3 hrs

There are also fast train connections from Arezzo, a 30 minutes drive away, to Florence, and from there to cities all over Italy.
