Lovely home and setting - and the owners made it a fabulous stay!

My wife and I stayed at Borghetto Calcinaia for more than a week in late October / early November. We enjoyed it immensely and couldn’t recommend it highly enough! The location is very convenient to area sightseeing, situated between Anghiari (8 minutes drive) and San Sepolcro (maybe 12 minutes), suitable for day trips to Citta di Castello, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and Urbino (all of which deserve at least a day trip). Don’t miss the closest - the medieval town of Anghiari — which is a largely untouched small town with few tourists. We also drove 5 minutes to start a nice walk on a gravel road along the Tiber River that feeds the lake. There is other hiking available in the area, too. The historic buildings have been beautifully rehabbed for modern living. The main guest house has a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size fridge, powerful gas cooktop and electric oven, and dishwasher, as well as a very good supply of pots, pans, and cooking gear, which we happily used daily as we prefer to cook our own meals. My family and I have just returned from a delightful week at Borghetto Calcinaia. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and views, the lovely swimming pool and the friendly hospitality of Dennis and Gilly. “Fabulous Vacation Home in Tuscany”

We just returned from a wonderful week at Borghetto Calcinaia, a beautiful place to stay in eastern Tuscany with delightful and welcoming hosts, Gilly and Dennis . The property is as gorgeous as depicted in the photos on the site; it is located in area that is easy for day trips to hill towns and other cities in Umbria and Tuscany. And knowing that a large pool with a tremendous view of the Tuscan countryside awaits you whatever your plans for the day, adds to the enjoyment of the stay. But what really makes Borghetto Calcinaia so special is Dennis and Gilly. “A Tuscan Paradise”

Having just spent a week at this idyllic 18th Century Farmhouse deep in the Tuscan countryside my wife and I were highly impressed by the comfort, lavish furnishing and facilities and outstanding hospitality of our hosts Gilly and Dennis. Everything from the beautiful scenery and garden to the beautiful bathroom and comfortable beds enhanced our stay. I cannot recommend Borghetto Calcinaia more highly.
